- A fellow we met in Montanita had two brothers, both of which are psychologists. After visiting they both independently said that 80% of the people in Montanita suffer from Peter Pan Syndrome. He explained that some people just refuse to grow up and take on responsibilities. I asked “what’s the issue?”. He said that eventually they are squeezed out by younger Peter Pans. They then have lots of troubles because they don’t have any solid job skills, assets, or relationships. What do you think?
- We talking at lunch with a guy who shared our table. He said he’d surfed in Montanita for quite awhile. One day he was talking with his surfing buddy about how all the
surfers could make cool ‘T’ shirts and sell them. He got really excited about the plan and started talking about everything from board shorts to surf boards. Eventually his surfer buddy said “cool down guy, what you been smoke’n? It’s all in your Mind. He went on to develop the Mind store, and the Mind Brand of surf gear.
The next day, in the same restaurant (where they serve a 3 course hot lunch with a drink for $3 and the owner walks around with a baby who isn’t his on his arm) we met a man named Barack who is working on opening a coffee shop.
